Why Partner With Unicef?
UNICEF is a global organization which advocates for children’s rights around the world. They enhance the lives of millions of children daily by fighting against, poverty, disease and conflict. UNICEF provides medicines, vaccines, education, clean water and emergency supplies to all children, irrespective of their race, gender, religious beliefs or political affiliations. They work in over 158 countries and territories helping children survive early childhood through immunization, breastfeeding, and providing insecticide-treated nets to their mothers.
UNICEF helps children in times of war and natural disasters, by giving them nutrition, education and re-uniting them with their families. They help boys and girls obtain an equal learning opportunity. UNICEF pioneered the idea of “days of tranquility” when hostile forces agree to a ceasefire to allow all children to be vaccinated.
UNICEF provides a voice for the most venerable children all around the world by providing providing a platform through the “United Nations Special Session on Children”. Never before in the history of the UN have children been given the opportunity to actively participate in UN meetings. In May 2002, more than 600 children from around the world had the unique opportunity of being delegates to the UN General Assembly and Security Council where they offered solutions to the plight of the worlds children. “Your presence here marks a new chapter in the history of the United Nations,” said Secretary-General Kofi Annan. |
